Tennis Season-Opener Postponed
NEW ALBANY - Friday's tennis matches between Northwest and Blue Mountain Christian University has been postponed, due to continued inclement weather.
Both teams will now attempt to play on Tuesday, January 30 at BNA Park in New Albany, with 2 P.M. as the tentative start time.
Upgrades Continue Inside Northeast's Historic Bonner Arnold Coliseum
BOONEVILLE, Miss. - One of the most recognizable buildings at Northeast Mississippi Community College has received several facelifts during its 75th year of existence.
The most notable renovation for those coming into legendary Bonner Arnold Coliseum has been brand-new permanent stadium-style seats in both the east and west grandstands.
Wilson named next men's basketball coach
FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's men's basketball assistant coach Darrian Wilson will take over the duties as head coach at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, the college announced Wednesday.
"It's an honor and privilege to be the next men's basketball coach at ICC," said Wilson. "Being a college basketball coach is something I have dreamed of since I started coaching, and I can't think of a better place to get my first head coaching job than Itawamba Community College."
Wilson, who is entering his second season as an assistant coach of the basketball program, was the head coach for AAU's Mississippi Express Basketball Organization (MEBO). It is a non-profit youth program based in Meridian and sponsored by NIKE ELITE YOUTH BASKETBALL (EYB), NBA veteran Rodney Hood, the Hood family and the Boys & Girls Club of East Mississippi.
Track & Field Ranked in Latest USTFCCCA Poll
RAYMOND, Miss. - The Hinds Track & Field teams are off to a fast start after their first week of the indoor season. Both teams found themselves ranked in the latest USTFCCA polls. The Men's team is currently ranked #17, while the women's team is 25th.
The Hinds Track & Field programs had 11 National Qualifiers after the LSU Purple Tiger in Baton Rouge, LA. Head Coach Reginald Dillon stated, "It was a good start for both teams now it is time to get back to the basics and get ready for the meet on Febuary 4th."
On the women's side, La'Nica Locker finished the 60m dash with a time of 7.59 to qualify. In the women's 4x400m relay, T'Kyla Bennett, Twyshanna Huie, Adriel Austin, and Shaneil Johnson all qualified with a time of 3:57.13.
