
SENATOBIA, Miss. – The Indians dodged defeat after drawing on the road against Northwest, 2-2, on Tuesday evening.
After the Rangers struck first, Elijah Belk (Oxford) found a window and made it a 1-1 match with 24:01 left in the first half. Northwest answered by scoring on a header to take a 2-1 lead going into halftime. After the break, Luke Dearsley (Sydney, Australia) found the equalizer to tie the match at 2-2 with 36:49 left. Throughout the remainder of the match, ICC denied the Rangers' chances of a go-ahead goal to finish with the draw.
Dearsley, Niclas Schulze (Hoersholm, Denmark) and Will Barber (Kent, England) each had a pair of shots on goal while Belk, Braden Walters (Caledonia), Vincent Walters (Hernando) and Alfredo Guerra (Capaccio, Italy) each added one.
Despite allowing two goals, William Blake (Fulton) recorded three saves in the match.
The Indians will be back at the ICC Soccer Complex on Friday, Oct. 11 when they host No. 10 Jones at 3 p.m.
