Lady Bulldogs split with East Central winning 9-1 and falling 7-1

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games here Saturday with East Central Community College winning 9-1 in eight innings and falling 7-1 in nine innings in game two.

The Lady Bulldogs go to 19-3 overall and 4-2 in the MACCC. Holmes will play Northeast in Booneville on Wednesday.

In game one, Kelsie Travis got the start and went five innings and picked up the win. She gave up one run on three hits with four strikeouts. Shelby Lindsay and Julianna Ingram each had two hits in the game. AnnaLeight Jones had a solo homerun in the second, Lanie Phillips had a grand slam in the fourth and Hallie Billie added a two-run homerun in the fourth.

In game two, Elleigh Willis got the start and went nine innings. She gave up seven runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and four walks. Lindsay and Willis had two his each with Willis having two doubles and Lindsay and Phillips adding one each.
