No. 5 Pearl River too much for Co-Lin

POPLARVILLE - The No. 5 ranked Pearl River Wildcats flexed their muscle as they defeated the Co-Lin Wolf Pack 77-63 in Marvin R. White Coliseum. The unbeaten Wildcats (4-0) keep their 32-game winning streak alive.

"We could not make enough plays to beat a strong team like Pearl River," said Co-Lin head coach Kenny Bizot. "We need to be more connected on the defensive end."

FIRST HALF - The Wolves went toe-to-toe with the Wildcats until Pearl River went on a 7-2 run at the end of the half to a take a 37-27 lead into locker room.

SECOND HALF - Co-Lin battled in the second half but didn't have an answer for the Wildcats.

CO-LIN LEADERS

Dee Merriweather came off the bench to score a team-high 12 points.

• AJ Wansley chipped in 10 points.

Daniel Smothers dished out 5 assists.

PEARL RIVER LEADERS

• Jariyon Wilkens had a double-double, 19 points and 10 rebounds

• Cameron Brown had a game-high 21 points.

• Jaronn Wilkins and Joe Cooper had 14 points piece

The Wolves (2-3, 1-3) host East Central on Monday, Feb. 8, 6 p.m.
