Wolves Pick Up Win Over Eagles

MERIDIAN – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team played their final regular season road game against Meridian on Thursday, February 27. The Wolves beat the Eagles, 80-67.

In a back-and-forth first half, the Eagles outscored the Wolves by just one point, 38-37, to hold a lead over the Wolves by that margin as the two teams entered the locker rooms at halftime. The Wolves then came out in the second half and dominated the Eagles outscoring them, 43-29, as they secured the victory in the final road game of the season.

Keisean Shields (Atoka, OK) led the Wolves offensively with 23 points paired two rebounds, three assists, and two steals while Deven Bates (Jackson) had 18 points with five rebounds, five assists, and five steals with Dakotah Hillard (Hazlehurst) had 13 points with six rebounds and two assists.

Prince Ojukwu (Etobicoke, Ontario) narrowly missed a double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds with one assist and one steal. Jayden Jackson (Camden) and Chris Stephens, Jr., (Byram) had five points and seven rebounds each while Stephens also had three blocks and one steal while Javian Watkins (Jackson) had two points with five assists to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

Co-Lin improves to 11-14 overall, 3-10 in MACCC play, and will wrap up the regular season hosting Gulf Coast on Monday, March 3. Tip-off between the Bulldogs and the Wolves is set for 7:30 p.m., at Mullen Gym in Wesson as the Lady Wolves celebrate Sophomore Night.
