
Fulton, Miss. – The North Division Champion ICC Men's Soccer team wrapped up division play Friday with a 4-1 win over Northwest.
The Indians (10-4, 7-1 MACCC North) clinched the North Division title on Tuesday, but came out playing with intensity and took an early lead.
At the 24 minute, Billy Gipp (London, England) scored off an assist from Wes Rollins (Columbus) and Dylan Sevilla (Tupelo) quickly extended the lead to 2-0 a minute later off an assist from Jose Villanueva (Maylene, Ala.).
Sevilla then scored his second goal of the contest at the 32nd minute to give the Indians a 3-0 lead that they held through halftime.
Northwest got on the board at the 56th minute, but Villanueva extended the lead back to three at the 67th minute. The Indians would hold that lead to pick up the 4-1 victory.
The Indians will shift their focus to the postseason as they have already qualified for the MACCC Semifinals that will be played Saturday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland. However, the Indians won know their opponent for the Semifinals until the quarterfinals are played Nov. 2.
