
POPLARVILLE, Miss. – No. 25 Itawamba Community College dropped a pair of road games at No. 14 Pearl River on Friday.
Game 1: Wildcats 8, Indians 0 (5 innings)
The Indians couldn't get anything going in game one as they dropped an 8-0 decision at Pearl River, in five innings.
The Wildcats got on the board in the second inning with four runs and added four more in the fifth to secure the run-rule victory.
Alyssa Clifft opened the game for the Indians and struck out five batters while walking three and giving up nine runs on 10 hits in four and two-thirds innings.
Maddie Porter collected the Indians' lone hit of the contest.
Game 2: Wildcats 8, Indians 0 (5 innings)
Troubles from game one carried over into game two for the Indians as they dropped an 8-0 contest at Pearl River, in five innings.
The Wildcats struck first in the second inning with two runs scored and would add one each in the third and fourth. Pearl River scored four more runs to pick up the game two win.
In the circle, Ella Lilly struck out three batters and walked three while surrendering eight runs on nine hits in four and two-thirds innings of work.
Laklyn Nichols, Zoe Goodman and Maddie Porter each had a hit for ICC. Nichols also stole two bases in the contest.
