The game started as a competitive battle, with ICC leading 16-10 after the first quarter. Despite East Mississippi keeping pace in the second, The Lady Indians maintained a narrow lead at halftime, 25-17. The third quarter saw ICC shift into another gear, outscoring their opponent 19-14, setting the stage for a commanding finish. In the final quarter, the Lady Indians continued their aggressive play, adding 22 points while holding East Mississippi to just 12, sealing their impressive win.
Jestiny Dixon led the charge with an outstanding all-around performance, tallying 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 steals. Tootie Lockett contributed 14 points and five assists. The team's ability to force turnovers and capitalize on scoring opportunities made the difference, as they shot 44.4% from the field compared to East Mississippi's 25.9%.
Defensively, Itawamba's relentless pressure resulted in 17 steals and four blocks, making it difficult for East Mississippi to find a rhythm.
