Indians pick up road sweep over East Central

Indians pick up road sweep over East Central

DECATUR, Miss. – The Indians dominated all phases of Friday's road match against East Central, picking up the 9-0 win.

ICC set the tone early with a 3-0 lead in doubles play. Joan Mateu Ramis Pascual (Manacor, Spain) and Knox Waterer (Belden) took No. 1 in an 8-2 decision while Jack Semper (Hackney, England) and Luca Hoffmann (Starkville) picked up an 8-4 win at No. 2. Ben Orr (Fulton) and Santiago Diaz (Buenos Aires, Argentina) cruised to an 8-2 victory, completing the doubles sweep.

In singles play, the Indians continued to control the match. Ramis Pascual took No. 1 with a 2-6, 6-4 [10-8] victory, and Waterer followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2. Semper picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3, and Diaz kept the momentum rolling in ICC's favor with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 4. Hoffmann (6-1, 6-0) and Sawyer Ritchie (Pontotoc) (6-4, 7-5) secured the match sweep at No. 5 and No. 6.

ICC will play again on Tuesday, April 1, for a 2 p.m. road match against Southwest in Summit.
