Baseball Gets Win over Southeast Arkansas

(March 1, 2025) Millington, Tennessee - The Bucks head to Millington for the second time this season on a high note. The men started the week 6-9 and had evened their record with wins over Northeastern Okahoma A&M, Bossier Parish, and South Arkansas. The doubleheader at USA Baseball had the Bucks taking on in region foe Southeast Arkansas and Coahoma Community College.

The Bucks would get a 5-2 win over Southeast Arkansas, but fell 4-2 to Coahoma to end the day. The Bucks record is now at 10-10 in the early season.

It was a tough day offensively, as the Bucks recorded 12 hits in the two games. Only 2 of the hits were extra base hits by Gage Mullins (McAlester, OK) and Landen Feimster (Sheridan, AR). Six men recorded a RBI on the day. The Bucks did walk 14 times in the doubleheader, but stranded a lot of base runners on the day. The men also stole 13 bases in the doubleheader.

On the mound, Logan Steele (Magnolia, TX) kept his season record perfect with his third win. Against Southeast Arkansas, Steele (3-0) pitched 5.0 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits and struck out 3 in the outing. Tyler Reed (Pampa, TX) came on and pitched the final 2.0 innings, to get his first save of the season. 

The Bucks will now have the week off to prepare for a Saturday doubleheader against Twin City Post Grad at Union Bank Field. First pitche is scheduled for 12 pm.
