Decatur, MS – The East Central Community College Warriors showcased their offensive firepower in a thrilling 95-83 victory over South Arkansas Community College in nonconference action Thursday night at Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium.
The Warriors came out strong, dominating the pace early with crisp ball movement and relentless defensive pressure that created key opportunities in transition. ECCC held a double-digit lead by halftime, buoyed by a balanced scoring attack and sharp shooting from beyond the arc.
South Arkansas fought back in the second half, tightening the gap with a series of well-executed plays and impressive shooting from their backcourt. However, the Warriors' depth and composure under pressure proved too much for the visiting Stars to overcome.
ECCC was led by stellar performances from Daniel Zatsepin and Tamarion Jones, who both set season highs in single-game points with 17 and 16, respectively. Fateh Bensalah and Terrell Doby provided some juice to the Warriors with timely blocks, steals, and deflections.
With this win, East Central improves to 5-3, building confidence and momentum as they prepare to dive deeper into their regular-season schedule. The Warriors will return to action next Monday at Mississippi Gulf Coast.
