Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College women's soccer opened conference play with a 3-1 win over Southwest Mississippi Community College Friday.
Emma Logan (Fulton) netted her first goal of the season off an assists from Brianna Huckaby (Saltillo) at the 14th minute to give ICC the early lead.
Julia Benneckenstein (Furstentum, Liechtenstein) extended the lead to 2-0 at the 28th minute off a corner kick from Beth Lloyd (Failsworth, England).
In the second half, the Lady Indians (4-2, 1-0 MACCC) scored their and final goal as Camryn Summerall (Brookhaven) scored her first goal of the year at the 78th minute.
Southwest would score a late goal, but ICC help on the pick up the 3-1 victory I nthe conference opener.
Sunday, the Lady Indians will host Columbia State Community College in a non-conference game at 3 p.m.
