
Wolves fall to No. 8 Pearl River
WESSON – The Co-Lin Wolves played toe-to-toe with the No. 8 Pearl River Wildcats in the first half, but cold shooting in the second half left the door open for the Wildcats to take a 77-65 win.
Shemar Dickerson's (Wesson/Wesson Attendance Center)trey with 9:19 remaining in the first half capped off an 11-2 run and gave the Wolves a 24-13 lead. The two teams would battle the remainder of the half and Co-Lin's lead at halftime was 40-36
In the second half, Co-Lin's shooting would go cold as the Wolves went almost six minutes without making a field goal. In the meantime, the Wildcats would put together a 17-4 run to take a 76-54 lead and the Wolves couldn't overcome.
Dee Merriweather (Memphis/East Memphis High School) and Daniel Smothers (Vicksburg/Warren Central High School) came off the bench to score 13 points apiece for the Wolves. Quandarius Studaway (Clinton/Clinton High School) chipped in 10 points. Jermario Hersey(Brookhaven/Broohaven High School) pulled down eight rebounds and made three steals.
Jaronn Wilkens had a game-high 24 points for the Wildcats. Earl Smith followed with 18 points. Cameron Brown and Joe Cooper chipped in 13 points apiece.
