GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up a 71-65 season-opening win over the Delgado Community College Dolphins here Tuesday.
Holmes will play South Arkansas at noon Friday on Elementary Day as Goodman-Pickens and Durant Elementary Schools come to Frank Branch Coliseum.
Holmes led 25-15 after one period and 38-28 at halftime. Delgado outscored Holmes, 21-13, in the third period before the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Dolphins, 20-16, in the fourth to seal the victory.
Ally Alford led the Lady Bulldogs with 22 points while Darrayna Wright had 21. Wright led in rebounds with 12.
