WESSON, MS – The Indians saw their 2025 campaign come to an end in the Region 23 Tournament with an 8-2 loss to No. 11 Northeast Mississippi, wrapping up the year at 30-21 overall and 14-14 in MACCC play.
The Indians took a 2-0 lead in the first inning behind an RBI single from Maddie Porter and a sacrifice fly from Kamdyn Taylor. Although the Tigers evened the score in the second and pulled away with a six-run fifth, the Indians never stopped battling.
ICC's offense featured six hits from six different players in the season finale. Taylor had a double and drove in a run, while both Porter and Joryie McKnight swiped bases to spark the top of the lineup. The Indians' aggressive style on the bases helped them finish with 141 stolen bases on the year.
Alyssa Clifft was the pitcher of record after giving up six earned runs on seven hits and three walks over four and a third innings. Despite the loss, Clifft etched her name into the record books, tying the program's single-season strikeout record with 168, a mark that has stood since 2019. Her 18 wins also rank fifth in a single season.
Porter capped off her freshman season by setting the single-season record for walks with 41 while also finishing fifth for most doubles in a season with 19. She batted .341 with a .511 on-base percentage and .558 slugging across 50 games, tallying 28 RBIs and 23 stolen bases. Nichols closed out her sophomore season ranked fifth all-time in single-season steals with 33. Duhon, another freshman, proved tough at the plate, finishing fourth in single-season hit-by-pitches with 13 while driving in 28 runs and adding six extra-base hits.
The Indians blasted 35 home runs, the third-most in a single season since team records began in 2013. Leading the way was Taylar Shands with 10 home runs, tied for fifth in single-season dingers, and a .655 slugging percentage, followed by AB Marlar's 8 bombs and team-high 42 RBIs.
