Women finally play 2022 MACCC opener

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast finally resumes MACCC women's basketball play Monday when the Bulldogs entertain Northeast Mississippi.

Tipoff at the Weathers-Wentzell Center is set for 6 p.m. The game will be streamed at https://livestream.com/mgcccbulldogs/events/10071709.

Gulf Coast had its first scheduled conference game of the new year scuttled last week when Mississippi Delta wasn't able to play.

  • MGCCC: 9-2/1-1 MACCC, 8th place in conference
  • NEMCC: 3-9/1-2 MACCC, T-9th place in conference

Last Time Out

  • MGCCC beat Baton Rouge 65-50 at Perk on Saturday. Sadie Williams (So., Gonzales, La./West Monroe) and Beverly Tillman (So., Laurel/Laurel) each had 15 points.
  • NEMCC lost 93-90 to Meridian on Thursday at Booneville.

Previous Meeting

Gulf Coast beat the Tigers 64-45 in the first round of the MACJC Tournament in Ellisville on Feb. 25, 2019. Shelli Thigpen led the Bulldogs with 19, and Gulf Coast held NEMCC to 13 second-half points.
