Trojans to play host to Hinds on Monday

MOORHEAD – The Mississippi Delta Community College women's basketball team will play host to Hinds Community College on Monday night in Moorhead at 6 p.m.

The matchup with the Bulldogs of Hinds will mark the first round of the Region XXIII tournament. If MDCC defeats Hinds, the Trojans will then head to Ellisville to face No. 1 ranked Jones College on Wednesday.

Delta traveled to Fulton on Saturday to take on Itawamba Community College, and despite a great effort, fell to the Indians, 65-54.

Rodericka Parker (Selma, Ala.) led all Trojans scorers with 14 points against ICC.

She was helped in her efforts by Makia Willis (Lumberton) and Antanisha Wade (Cleveland), who each finished with 12 points.
