Decatur, MS - In their latest match on September 2, 2024, the East Central Community College men's soccer team faced a tough challenge, falling 3-0 to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at home. The match started with Mississippi Gulf Coast applying pressure early, leading to a breakthrough in the 20th minute when Neko Worthy scored, assisted by Alexander Mink. Despite efforts from East Central to respond, they struggled to create clear chances against a well-organized Gulf Coast defense.

The second half saw the visitors extend their lead. Victor Moerck found the net in the 66th minute after a Luke Hopkins setup, putting the Warriors in a difficult position. East Central's defense, led by goalkeeper Jacobo Giraldo, who made four saves, worked hard to keep the scoreline respectable. However, Gulf Coast sealed the victory with a late goal by Dorian Robinson in the 87th minute, assisted by Kade Smith.

East Central had a few opportunities, with Michael Lismore leading the offense with two shots on goal, but they were unable to break through Gulf Coast's defense. The loss leaves the Warriors still seeking their first victory of the season, as they look to regroup for their upcoming matches.
