
Raiders Dominate East Miss. Securing Their Third Straight Victory
SCOOBA, Miss. – It was another dominate showing for Northwest Florida State women's basketball on Tuesday night as the Raiders cruised by East Mississippi, 95-38, securing their third victory of the season.
Celia Riviere led the charge for the Raiders, securing her first career double-double with 18-points and ten rebounds. Mekhia Chase also had a solid performance offensively, scoring 16-points of her own, while turning in six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Destiney McPhaul (11) and Mya Pierfax (10) also reached double-digits in scoring making it the first time this season four Raiders scored in double figures.
Together, the Raiders shot 54% from the field and 33% from behind the arc. NWF also played solid defense, grabbing 36-defensive rebounds, 11 steals, and swatting away six shots.
The Raiders held the Lions to just four points in the first quarter and eight points in the second, helping them jump out to a 36-point lead at the halfway mark. NWF continued their dominance into the second half of play by nearly matching their scoring total from the first half with 47 more points, putting them at a final score of 95, making it the second straight game the Raiders have scored at least 80-points or more and the second straight game where they have won by a margin of 45-points or more.

The Raiders are back in action this weekend as they get set for their home opener on Friday at 5:30 PM when they take on Miami Dade. The Raiders are also scheduled to play Saturday at 5:30 PM when they host Eastern Florida.
