Lady Bulldogs take two from East Mississippi, 8-2 and 16-7

SCOOBA --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 10-0 on the season here Tuesday with a sweep of East Mississippi Community College, 8-2 and 16-7.
Holmes will play Arkansas State on Saturday at 1/3 p.m. in Grenada at Grenada High School.
In game one, Kelsie Travis picked up the win. She went six innings and gave up two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and two walks. Elleigh Willis went one inning and gave up one hit with two strikeouts.
Lanie Phillips, Hallie Billie and Shelby Lindsay each had three hits with Phillips, Billie and Lindsay each having a double. Julianna Ingram and LaCristia Edwards each had two hits with Leah Kinard adding a double.
In game two, Emmagail Kelley got the start in the game and went 3.1 innings and gave up seven runs on seven hits with one walk. Willis came in the game in the fourth and picked up the win going 3 2/3 innings and gave up one hit with four strikeouts and one walk.
Ingram, Kinard and Billie each had three hits while Travis, Phillips, Edwards and Reese Page having two hits each. Ingram had a solo homerun and two doubles while Billie added a three-run homer and Travis, Phillips, Kinard and Edwards each having a double.
