NJCAA Region 23 Men's Tennis Tournament Day 2 Headlines
Ellisville, MISS (TOURNAMENT CENTRAL | LIVE STATS) - The 2023 NJCAA Region 23 Men's Tennis Tournament kicked off on Thursday, April 20 in Ellisville, hosted by 2023 Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Champion Jones College.

No. 14 Bobcats play for men's region crown on Saturday
ELLISVILLE (via JCBobcats.com) – The 14th-rated Jones College Bobcats will by playing for another region title on Saturday.
Jones blanked No. 19 Itawamba 5-0 on Friday morning in the Region 23 Tournament semifinals at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. The Bobcats defeated Copiah-Lincoln 5-0 on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
The Bobcats have already captured the MACCC championship and will by vying for its second straight Region 23 crown.
No. 19 Indians fall to No. 11 Jones in region semifinals
Ellisville, Miss. (via LetsGoICC.com) – No. 19 Itawamba Community College men's tennis suffered an 5-0 loss to No. 11 Jones College Friday in the NJCAA Region 23 Semifinals.
The Indians battled but fell behind, 3-0, after doubles and then dropped No. 5 and No. 6 singles, giving the Bobcats the win.
Saturday, the Indians will face No. 17 Meridian in the region tournament's third place match at 2 p.m. at Jones College.
No. 22 Northwest Drops Region 23 Tournament Match to Itawamba
ELLISVILLE - John David Nelson and Kaleb Parish were able to earn a win at No. 3 doubles for Northwest, but Itawamba still ended up earning a 5-1 victory in Thursday's NJCAA Region 23 Tournament quarterfinal match.
Nelson and Parish battled to a 9-8 win against the Indians' duo of William Morgan and Houston Walker, but the Rangers fell 8-0 at No. 1 and 8-2 at the No. 2 slot. From there, Itawamba took courts two, three and four in singles' play to clinch the match and advance to the next stage of the tournament.
