Softball Pitcher of the Week
Cassidy Duskin, Northeast Mississippi Community College

Cassidy Duskin factored into the decision during all 4 games for No. 15 Northeast last week. She threw a complete game 3-hitter during Northeast's 2-1 opening win at Itawamba with 6 strikeouts & 1 walks. Duskin then recorded a 1-out save in the nightcap to preserve the Tigers' first sweep at Itawamba since 2006. On Saturday, Duskin tossed another complete game 3-hitter in a 4-1 win over East Central with 8 strikeouts, 0 walks & 0 earned runs allowed. She then recorded a 2-out save in the nightcap. For the week, Duskin went 2-0 with 2 saves and had 16 strikeouts compared to 1 walk and only 1 earned run allowed in 15 innings of work.
Softball Player of the Week
Josie Meggs, Copiah-Lincoln Community College
(So., INF - Kosciusko, Mississippi, 6)
Josie Meggs had her best week at the plate with a .727 batting average as the Lady Wolves went a perfect 4-0. The sophomore infielder from Kosciusko started her week reaching base in all her plate appearances in the Lady Wolves sweep of the Lady Warriors as she went a combined 4-for-5 at the plate with one triple, two RBIs, one stolen base and drew five walks. Meggs then finished the week with a 4-for-6 combined performance in the Lady Wolves sweep of the Lady Trojans as she had one double, one triple, four RBIs, one stolen base, and drew one walk. Meggs also reached base in every plate appearance in game one against the Lady Trojans making three straight games doing so for the Lady Wolves. She also posted a perfect fielding percentage along with a .824 on-base percentage and a 1.182 slugging percentage during the week.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
JW Armistead, Itawamba Community College
(Fr, P - Mooreville, MS, 6)
Armistead struck out 12 and threw a complete game 3 hit shutout in the Indians 3-0 game two road win over Northeast.
Baseball Player of the Week
Will Verdung, Itawamba Community College
(So, IF/P - Corinth, MS, 16)
Verdung helped the Indians go 3-1 last week hitting .533 with 7 RBI and 2 home runs. He went 1-for-4 with 1 RBI in the 9-5 game 1 loss to Northeast and went 2-for-4 with 1 run scored int he 3-0 game two win. Against Southwest, Verdung went 3-for-4 with 5 RBI, 2 home runs and 4 runs scored in the 19-3 game 1 win. In the 4-2 game 2 win, he went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI and closed out the game on the mound striking out 1.
