MACCC Baseball Players of the Week Announced

Jackson, Miss. (MACCCAthletics.com) -- The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball and Softball Players of the Week have been named following breakout performances in last week’s games.

The selections are made by a 15-member panel. This week’s awardees are:

BASEBALL (PITCHER) - Landon Gartman, Pearl River Community College, Freshman

Pearl River's Landon Gartman helped give the Wildcats a chance against MGCCC, striking out 11 against four hits and one run in seven innings during PRCC's 2-1 10-inning victory

BASEBALL (PLAYER) - Pablo Lanzarote, Hinds Community College, Sophomore

Lanzarote belted 3 home runs in a double header against Southwest to up his yearly total to 6. He also was responsible for 20 runs in a week where the Hinds offense exploded for 51 runs. Lanzarote is a former All-Region 23 catcher, Pre-season All-American, and MACCC/NJCAA player of the week in February of 2020
