Wolves Play to Draw With Warriors
DECATUR – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team returned to action on the road against East Central on Tuesday, September 5. The Wolves and Warriors ended the match in a 2-2 tie.
The Wolves jumped ahead early as Holloway Willsey (Starkville) beat the Warriors keeper with a header from a corner kick by Alfie Lally (Manchester, England) in the seventh minute of the match. The Wolves then added their second goal in the 29th minute as Edward Bond-Upton (Doncaster, England) blasted the ball past the Warriors keeper from outside the top of the box to increase the lead to 2-0 which held throughout the remainder of play.
Charles Chigeru named assistant men's basketball coach on Billy Begley's EMCC staff
SCOOBA -- Florida native Charles Chigeru has been hired as assistant men's basketball coach at East Mississippi Community College, as announced this week by EMCC head men's basketball coach Billy Begley.
Chigeru, a seven-year coaching veteran in the university ranks, replaces former EMCC basketball All-America point guard DJ Evans, who was named the boys' head basketball coach at Kemper County High School this past June following a five-year coaching stint on the Scooba campus.
No. 4 MGCCC in 11th after 36
No. 4 Mississippi Gulf Coast didn't ease into the 2023-24 golf campaign. The Bulldogs opened the year at the prestigious Folds of Honor Challenge in Allendale, Mich., and finished the first day in 11th place in a power-packed field.
Bear Soccer's Marin earns National Goalkeeper of the Week honor
Through the first few matches of the season several Bears have stood out with their stellar play. But arguably nobody has been better than sophomore goalkeeper Loan Marin.
And for his efforts, the Lyon, France-native was not only named the MACCC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week but also the NJCAA Div. II Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.
