Southwest's 'Growling Wood' disc golf course open to public
After much anticipation, the Southwest Mississippi Community College Growling Wood Disc Golf Course is open and available to the general public.
It is located on the front (west) side of campus and stretches as far as behind the Southwest Police Station.
Werremeyer Chosen To Continue Serving on NJCAA Sport Committees
Raymond, MS - Hinds Director of Athletics Nathan Werremeyer has been chosen to continue to serve on three National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Sport Committees for the 2024-25 school year.
Each year, NJCAA leadership selects individuals from within the association to serve on various sport committees. Heading into his fourth year as the Hinds AD, Werremeyer has been chosen to serve on the Division I Women's Basketball and Competitive Cheer Committees and selected as the Vice Chair of the Division I Football Committee.
Aaron McIntyre Named Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Wesson, Miss. - Aaron McIntyre starts his first year as assistant coach for the Wolves Basketball team. The Southaven, Mississippi, native attended DeSoto Central High School where he played for the Jaguars. After graduating in 2015, McIntyre began his coaching career in 2016 as an assistant coach with Jones Elite AAU. He went on to become a head coach for various age groups throughout the organization and ultimately became co-director of Jones Elite.

Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer and tennis.
Women's competition is offered in the sports of basketball, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
