ECCC Baseball 18th Annual Fall Camp
Decatur, MS- East Central Community College Baseball presents its 18th Annual Fall Camp for high school players (grades 9-12). The camp focuses on skill enhancement through instruction and competition, with each team kept small for personalized attention. Players must commit to attending all scheduled dates.
Camp runs from October 15 to November 7, with the potential for additional games the week of November 11 if needed.
EMCC Lions set to tee off men's and women's fall golf slates at Tunica National
SCOOBA – East Mississippi Community College is set to make history within its athletics program when the EMCC women's golf team officially competes on the links for the first time at this week's MACCC Fall Preview at Tunica National. Slated to tee off Monday, the two-day, EMCC-hosted invitational tournament (Sept. 16-17) will mark the opening of the 2024-25 MACCC men's golf conference schedule in addition to serving as a preview competition for next spring's NJCAA Gulf District Championship to also be hosted by EMCC.
Men's basketball announces the hiring of assistant Shyheim Small
ELLISVILLE – Jones College head men's basketball coach Newton Mealer has announced the final hire to his 2024-25 staff, adding Shyheim Small on as an assistant.
The Dunn, North Carolina, native brings Division I experience from North Carolina Central and Northern Kentucky University where he was a graduate assistant working in film analysis, player development and game preparation.
"Adding another quality coach in this position gives us an opportunity to maintain the success we've been accustomed to," Mealer said. "Coach Small came highly recommended from friends at the Division I level. He will help our staff in multiple areas, including film analysis and day-to-day basketball operations."
