Women's Basketball
Ja'Sharreah Hunt, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(So, G - Roxie, 1)
Ja'Sharreah Hunt, a sophomore guard from Roxie, averaged 15.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists as Gulf Coast won three games on the way to the Region 23 championship. In the championship game against Southwest Mississippi, Hunt had 23 points, three rebounds and three assists in a 62-50 victory.
Men's Basketball
Ky Pernell, Jones College
(Fr, G - Indianola, Miss., 4)
Ky Pernell, a 6-foot-3 freshman guard from Horn Lake, helped Jones College claim the Region 23 Tournament Championship. He averaged 18.3 points per game and led Jones with 24 points in the 83-81 title game win over Mississippi Gulf Coast. He also had six rebounds in that game. He had 16 points and five assists in the 73-72 win over Holmes in the semifinals. He had 15 points and five rebounds in the 80-75 quarterfinal victory over Baton Rouge.
Softball
Lainee Bailey, Pearl River Community College

Lainee Bailey (Walker, La.) threw a pair of complete games last week against Southwest and Mississippi Delta, allowing just one earned run on eight hits and five walks. She struck out 17 batters.
Abby Grace Richardson, Copiah-Lincoln Community College
(So., C/INF - Brookhaven, Mississippi, 24)
Abby Grace Richardson had a phenomenal week for the Lady Wolves as they went 5-1 including hitting a home run in three straight games. The Mississippi State signee started her week with a pair of home runs in the Lady Wolves games against Rock Valley and Northwest Florida State as she hit one in each game as she hit a three-run home run against the Golden Eagles and a solo home run against the Raiders while also drawing three combined walks. Richardson then went a combined 3-7 in the sweep against Gulf Coast hitting the game-winning two-run home run in game one against the Lady Bulldogs and was then walked three times in game two. The Brookhaven native then finished the week going a combined 4-6 in the sweep against the No. 8 Lady Rangers where she hit a solo home run in game one and drew two walks, one in each game. Richardson reched base safely and scored a run in every game this week for the Lady Wolves and had at least one RBI in five of six games played recording two or more RBIs in four of those games en route to a .500 average, .654 on-base percentage, and a 1.167 slugging percentage while also being part of two defensive double plays during the week.
Baseball
Trent Hillen, Jones College
(R-So, P - Morgan City, La., 27)
Trent Hillen, a sophomore from Morgan City, Louisiana, pitched a 7-inning complete game victory to lead No. 13 Jones College to a 7-1 victory over East Mississippi. Hillen allowed one run, two hits, walked two and struck out a career-high 10 batters. Hillen transferred to Jones from Nicholls State and has already signed with Northwestern State.
Trey Bridges, East Central Community College
(SO, OF - Jackson, MS, 42)
Trey Bridges continues his stellar season for the East Central Warriors. He's been hot at the plate and solid in the outfield, and his timely hitting has kept the Warriors undefeated. This week, his performance totals 2 home runs, 10 RBI, and a .444 average at the plate.
