Bobcats Dominate MACCC Baseball Weekly Awards
Softball
Olivia Banes, Copiah-Lincoln Community College
(F, INF - Pelahatchie, Mississippi, 00)
Olivia Banes picked the best time to have her best week in a Lady Wolves uniform as the team went 3-0 during the Region 23 Softball Semifinal Tournament. The freshman from Pelahatchie started off reaching base in all three plate appearances against Northeast going 1-for-1 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch with the one hit being a two-run home run, her first home run of the season and career. Banes then followed with a 3-for-3 game in the Lady Wolves 15-0 win over LSU-Eunice where she hit a double, a pair of three-run home runs, and a walk to mark the second straight game where she reached base in every plate appearance. She then finished the week with an RBI single in the Lady Wolves 9-1 win over the Lady Bengals. Banes posted a .714 batting average, an on-base percentage of .800, and a 2.143 slugging percentage to go along with a perfect fielding percentage.
Makynlie Jones, Jones College
(Fr, UTIL - Vardaman, Miss., 34)
She was 6 for 13 with 2 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored in Jones' 3-1 weekend in the Ellisville Regional. She hit a walk-off, two-run HR to beat ECCC 7-5 in 8 innings Friday and homered again in Sunday's decisive game to win the regional.
Cara Biswell, Copiah-Lincoln Community College
(So., P - Brandon, Mississippi, 12)
Cara Biswell was a dominant force in the circle for the Lady Wolves as they went a perfect 3-0 in the Region 23 Softball Semifinal Tournament. Biswell started the tournament with a complete game shutout of the Tigers of Northeast where she allowed just three hits with one walk (her only one of the weekend) and six strikeouts. In the Lady Wolves 15-0 win over the Lady Bengals, Biswell pitched four innings allowing three hits with one strikeout. The sophomore from Brandon capped the tournament with a complete game win against the Lady Bengals allowing one run on three hits with one strikeout. Biswell finished the weekend with a 0.44 era, a .63 whip, and a .170 batting average against.
Baseball
Beau Bryans, Jones College
(So, P/OF - Madison, Miss., 22)
Beau Bryans, a sophomore from Madison Central, pitched well in a 3-2, 10-inning win by No. 13 Jones College over East Mississippi. He pitched 7.0 innings, allowed one earned run, three hits, walked three and struck out eight in a no decision. Bryans has already signed with the University of Alabama.
Brady Thomas, Jones College
(So, UTIL - Brandon, Miss., 5)
Brady Thomas, a sophomore from Northwest Rankin, played well for No. 13 Jones College. In a 3-2, 10-inning win over East Mississippi, Thomas blasted a mammoth, two-run home run in the sixth inning to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead. He also added a single in that game. In a 6-5 loss to EMCC, he was 3-for-4 with a home run, triple, double and two runs scored.

The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) is one of the premier community college conferences in the country and ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of alumni on professional sports teams.
Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer and tennis.
