Ramsey Montgomery, Topher Jones Lead MACCC Weekly Honors

Softball Pitcher
Ramsey Montgomery, Northeast Mississippi Community College
(Freshman, P - Mantachie, Miss., 23)
Ramsey Montgomery started and was the pitcher of record during all four conference games last week for Northeast. She went 4-0 with a 0.32 ERA (only 1 earned run allowed) in 22 innings of work. Montgomery struck out 37 batters while scattering only 8 hits and 6 walks. She tossed two complete game shutouts in game one wins at Meridian and at home versus Southwest. Montgomery tossed a one-hitter (faced two batters over the minimum) against the Bears with 15 strikeouts, which was one off her career-high.
Softball Player
Makynlie Jones, Jones College
(R-So, OF - Vardaman, Miss., 34)
Sophomore OF Makynlie Jones had another unbelievable week for No. 1 Jones. Makynlie hit .706 with three doubles, a triple, five homers, 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored against No. 9 Northwest and No. 21 Itawamba. She has homered 12 times in her last 10 games, currently leading NJCAA DII in both home runs (19) and RBIs (63).
Baseball Pitcher
Trace Tingle, East Mississippi Community College
(Fr., P - Pascagoula, MS, 17)
EMCC's Trace Tingle threw a two-hit complete game in the Lions' 4-1 nightcap win over top-ranked East Central. The freshman left-hander only allowed an unearned run while striking out nine batters and walking five over seven innings of work to improve to 3-0 on the year with his second complete game.
Baseball Player
Topher Jones, Pearl River Community College
(Fr, INF/OF - Hernando, Miss., 1)
Topher Jones (Hernando) was elite across Pearl River's three games last week. The Mississippi State transfer hit .583, going 7-for-12 at the plate. He drove in nine runs, hitting a double and a home run along the way.
