Eli Waters, Ramsey Montgomery Named MACCC Players of the Week

Softball Pitcher
Ramsey Montgomery, Northeast Mississippi Community College
(Freshman, P - Mantachie, Miss., 23)
Ramsey Montgomery went 2-0 with a save in three appearances against nationally ranked teams last week. She started the week by tying a career-high with 16 strikeouts in a 2-1 rivalry victory over Itawamba. Montgomery tossed a complete game two-hitter with no earned runs allowed. She then threw a three-hitter with six strikeouts in a shutout win over Mississippi Gulf Coast. Montgomery earned her third save in the nightcap by tossing the last 2.2 innings. For the week, Montgomery struck out 24 batters, allowed only 5 hits and 6 walks, and did not give up an earned run (one unearned run only) in 16.2 innings.

Cailey Pervel, Pearl River Community College

Pearl River's Cailey Pervel hit .571 with three doubles, three homers and eight RBIs across four games. The freshman also scored six runs.
Baseball Pitcher
Eli Waters, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(So, RHP - Petal, 15)
Eli Waters, a sophomore righty from Petal, threw eight shutout innings to beat Copiah-Lincoln 7-0. He struck out 11 while allowing just three hits and a walk.
Baseball Player
Braden Smith, Jones College
(So, INF - Brandon, Miss., 9)
Braden Smith helped No. 10 Jones to a 4-0 week and extended his hit streak to 8 games. Smith, who hit just one HR as a freshman, hit two on the week and has a team-leading eight on the year. He added a double, 7 RBIS and 7 runs scored.
