Pearl River Sweeps MACCC Softball Awards

Softball Pitcher

Ana-Grace Garcia, Pearl River Community College
(Fr, RHP - Baton Rouge, La., 1)

Pearl River's Ana-Grace Garcia (Baton Rouge, La.; St. Joseph's) went 2-0 in the circle last week and had a 0.70 ERA. The right-hander struck out 17 in 10 innings pitched, allowing one earned run on five hits and two walks.

Natalee Eaves, Pearl River Community College
(Fr, INF - Louisville, Miss., 10)

Pearl River's Natalee Eaves (Louisville; Choctaw Central) held a .643 (9-for-14) batting average across four victories. The freshman wrapped up the week with six RBIs, five runs, one homer, one triple and one double. She also stole four bases. She also was perfect in the field, seeing time in center field and at shortstop.

KK Clark, Pearl River Community College
(So, RHP - Brandon, Miss., 3)

KK Clark (Brandon) threw a five-inning no-hitter on the road against Meridian. The right-handed pitcher struck out eight batters and only allowed one walk.

Briceton Johnson, East Central Community College
(FR, OF - Maben, MS, 8)

Briceton Johnson is dominating on the baseball field right now. The freshman outfielder posted a remarkable .615 batting average for the week, with standout performances that include a grand slam, a three-run blast to center field, and a stand-up triple.

The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC)  is one of the premier community college conferences in the country and ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of alumni on professional sports teams. 

Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer and tennis.  

Women's competition is offered in the sports of basketball, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
