East Central's Chris Tucker's Standout Performance Against No. 9 Northeast Mississippi Earns MACCC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Women's Soccer - Goalkeeper
Anna Kathryn Harrell, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(Fr, GK - Tupelo, Miss., 1)
Northwest freshman goalkeeper Anna Kathryn Harrell posted another clean sheet for the Lady Rangers in Friday's 3-0 win against East Central. The Tupelo native collected two saves and earned her 13th victory, becoming the new single-season leader in wins for a goalkeeper. Additionally, Harrell also recorded her 12th shutout of the season, also good for a new single season record. (Ashley Nelson held the previous record of 11 shutouts, set during the 2014 season.)
Women's Soccer - Offense
Kayla Martin, Southwest Mississippi Community College
(Fr., F - Luling, LA, 5)
Less than a week after scoring three goals in a win over Hinds, Martin followed that up with an even better performance in Friday's 9-0 win at East Mississippi. The freshman from Luling, LA set a new school record with four goals in a match. She was also one half of a double hat trick for the Lady Bears (along with Juliette Charriez Rivera who had 3 goals), just the second in team history. Her efforts also helped Southwest tie a team record of goals in a single match.
Men's Soccer - Goalkeeper
Joshua Goodwin, Jones College
(Fr, GK - Hattiesburg, Miss., 00)
Joshua Goodwin, a freshman from Oak Grove High School, had another shutout for No. 6 Jones College. He played all 90 minutes and had two saves as the Bobcats won an important 2-0 match at No. 15 Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Men's Soccer - Offense
Justin Ruiz, Southwest Mississippi Community College
(Fr., F - Palmdale, CA, 33)
Ruiz was key for the Bears in their lone match of the week (2-1 win Friday at East Mississippi). In the match, the freshman from Palmdale, CA scored both goals for Southwest in the win.
Football Offensive Player
Chris Tucker, East Central Community College
(RS-F, QB - Dallas, TX, 8A)
Chris Tucker had a career night on Thursday as he led the Warriors to a 28-21 overtime win over No. 9 Northeast on Homecoming. Tucker connected on 30-of-44 passes for 319 yards and four touchdowns.
Football Defensive Player
Raymond Collins, Jones College
(So, LB - Gulfport, Miss., 34)
Raymond Collins, a 6-foot-2, 238-pound linebacker from Harrison Central, had a good game in No. 7 Jones College's 29-15 win at Pearl River. Collins had four tackles, three TFLs, two sacks, two forced fumbles and returned a blocked extra point attempt for two points in the Jones' victory.
Football Special Teams Player
Jalen Ballard, Holmes Community College
(R-Freshman, K - Brandon, 84)
Brandon High School graduate Jalen Ballard kicked the game winner as time expired to give Holmes the 26-24 win over Itawamba Thursday in Goodman. He hit four field goals (45, 44, 39, and 39) and two extra points. Holmes is now 4-2 and 2-2 in the North. Holmes plays Miss. Delta on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Moorhead.
