Cookie Wilkinson Repeats as MACCC Player of the Week, Deven Bates Earns Men's Basketball Honors

Angel Wilkinson, Copiah-Lincoln Community College

Angel "Cookie" Wilkinson had another strong week narrowly missing out on averaging a double-double as the Lady Wolves went 2-1. The sophomore guard from Brookhaven started her week with a 20 point, five rebound performance against the Lady Bears of Baton Rouge and then posted her first of two-straight doubles-doubles with 15 points and 10 rebounds against the Hinds Lady Bulldogs. She then finished her week with a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double against LSU-Eunice, sharing the game lead in points and leading all players in rebounds. For the week, Wilkinson averaged 18.7 points per game and 9 rebounds per game along with three steals and 2.3 assists per game.
Men's Basketball
Deven Bates, Copiah-Lincoln Community College
(Fr., G - Jackson, Mississippi, 12)
Deven Bates had a strong showing for the Wolves in their only game of the week. The freshman guard from Jackson posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Wolves 74-46 win over the Hinds Bulldogs. Bates led all players in both of those categories.
