Jestiny Dixon, Tylik Weeks Pick Up Final MACCC Basketball Weekly Honors

Women's Basketball
Jestiny Dixon, Itawamba Community College
(SO, G - Foley, Ala., 14)
Jestiny Dixon (Foley, Ala.) continues to have an outstanding sophomore campaign. She averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds to help ICC go 2-0 on the week, including recording a triple-double in the Lady Indians win over East Mississippi - 21 points, 10 rebounds and a career-best 11 steals.
Men's Basketball
Tylik Weeks, Southwest Mississippi Community College
(So., F - New York, NY, 5)
Tylik Weeks put together a very strong week for the Bears who went 1-1. In Monday's 76-75 loss vs Meridian he finished two assists shy of a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to go along with three steals and one block. In Thursday's 75-67 win at Gulf Coast, he recorded another double-double with 26 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five assists, three blocks and one steal. For the week, he also finished 16-of-20 from the free throw line.
Softball Pitcher
Olivia Falcon, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(So, P - St. Amant, La., 7)
Olivia Falcon, a sophomore from St. Amant, La., went 2-0 and struck out 11 in seven innings for Gulf Coast. She pitched two extra innings of hitless relief to beat No. 16 North Iowa Area 2-1, then threw a two-hitter to beat No. 22 Kankakee 8-0 in five innings. She struck out nine without a walk in that appearance
Softball Player
Makynlie Jones, Jones College
(R-So, OF - Vardaman, Miss., 34)
In the only competition of the week, No. 1 Jones swept a doubleheader from No. 16 North Iowa. Makynlie Jones, a sophomore outfielder from Vardaman, went 6 for 7 (.857) with three home runs, four RBIs and five runs scored. She homered and singled in an 11-3, six-inning win in Game 1. Jones then homered twice and doubled twice as the Bobcats won game 2, 5-4 in 10 innings.
Baseball Pitcher
James Vines, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(Fr, RHP - Clinton, La., 16)
James Vines, a freshman righty from Clinton, La., struck out 15 batters and walked only one in eight innings for Mississippi Gulf Coast, which went 2-0 in his appearances. He got a win in a 3-2 victory over No. 5 Pearl River, striking out five in two innings of hitless relief. In a 4-3 victory over No. 22 Lansing, he struck out 10 in a seven-inning start. Vines had a 1.12 ERA for the week, giving up just seven hits.
Baseball Player
Dom Jackson, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(So, OF - Gulf Breeze, Fla., 12)
Dom Jackson, a sophomore outfielder/designated hitter from Gulf Breeze, Fla., slugged three home runs and drove in 10 during a 4-2 week for Gulf Coast. He had a three-run homer in the eighth to beat No. 12 Jones 5-4. Jackson also homered against Nunez and Lansing.
