Abby Grace Richardson, Natalie Herrington Headline Talented All-Conference Teams
JACKSON -- The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference today released its 2023-2024 All-Conference teams and speciality award winners.
Pearl River's Natalie Herrington had an incredible season on her journey to MACCC Pitcher of the Year, earning a 1.69 ERA across 169 1/3 innings on the year. The Petal native struck out 184 batters to just 44 walks and had a WHIP of just 0.94. The Lady Wildcats finished the year with a 42-12 (21-7 MACCC) record.
Abby Grace Richardson earned MACCC Player of the Year following the Wolves' 42-5 (26-2 MACCC) season record and MACCC regular season championship. Richardson put up a .942 fielding percentage, and just nine errors. Richardson led the MACCC in on-base percentage (.642) and slugging percentage (1.085).
Hinds Head Coach Mike Grzanich was voted MACCC Softball Coach of the Year by his peers after leading the team to a 32-16 (21-7, MACCC) record, tying for third place in the league. The Lady Eagles also earned a Region 23 playoff berth.
