Tytiana Buckley Repeats as Player of the Week, Nick Walker Picks Up Men's Basketball Honors
Women's Basketball
Tytiana Buckley, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College

Tytiana Buckley, a sophomore guard from Meridian, shot the lights out on the way to a 25-point night in a 63-57 win over East Central. She also had a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double in a 66-60 win at Coahoma. Buckley made 5-of-7 from behind the arc against ECCC and shot 60 percent from long range for the week.
Men's Basketball
Nick Walker, East Mississippi Community College
(So., F - Hattiesburg, MS, 10)
EMCC's Nick Walker averaged a double-double (19 ppg & 10.5 rpg), while shooting 56% (14-25 FGs) from the field and 83% (10-12 FTs) from the line, during the Lions' 2-0 week. He opened the week by recording his 19th career double-double with a career-high 27 points (10-16 FGs & 7-8 FTs) and 13 rebounds in EMCC's 91-72 road win over Jones. Walker followed with 11 points and eight boards during the Lions' 64-52 home victory over Mississippi Delta.
Softball
Lauren Mounce, Southwest Mississippi Community College

Freshman Lauren Mounce had an outstanding week for the Lady Bears helping to lead them to a 2-0 mark. In Tuesday's 6-2 win at John Melvin, she pitched all 7 innings finishing with an incredible 16 strikeouts which is 1 shy of tying the Southwest school record. She also gave up only 5 hits, 2 runs (1 earned). She had an even greater performance in Friday's 8-0 win vs Andrew College by pitching a perfect game and striking out 12 over 6 innings of work.
Tabitha Mayfield, Meridian Community College
(Sophomore, C - Ocean Springs, 9)
Sophomore Tabitha Mayfield led the Lady Eagles offensively this week, batting .750 with 3 home runs, 1 double, and 8 RBIs. Her offensive performances led MCC to a 4-0 record this week.
Baseball
Lincoln Sheffield, Hinds Community College
(So, P/INF - Flowood, MS, 25)
Sheffield was dominant on the bump for the Eagles as he threw a complete game and struck out 10 batters.
Gates Gerhart, East Mississippi Community College
(So., 1B - Columbus, MS, 14)
EMCC's Gates Gerhart went 6-for-9 at the plate with four home runs, a double and 14 runs batted in during the Lions' home-and-home doubleheader sweeps over Marion Military Institute (6-0, 17-1, 8-0 & 12-0). He also scored five runs and added two stolen bases and a sacrifice fly along with being hit by a pair of pitches during the four-game series. Gerhart capped his productive two days by going 4-for-6 (2-for-3 each game), including three homers and a double, with 10 RBIs and four runs scored during EMCC's Friday twin-bill sweep over MMI. After hitting a homer and a double (3 RBIs) in Friday's first game, he followed in the nightcap with a first-inning grand slam and a three-run blast in the third frame (7 RBIs).
