Maddie Smith, Kensley Woolbright Named MACCC Volleyball Players of the Week

Volleyball - Offense
Maddie Smith, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(Fr, OH - Jonesboro, Ark., 2)
Northwest freshman Maddie Smith had a solid week offensively in a 4-0 stretch for the Lady Rangers. The Jonesboro, Ark. native tallied 54 kills, with 21 coming in a 3-1 victory against Henderson State JV. Smith also had 28 digs for the week, helping Northwest extend its winning streak to 15 matches.
Volleyball - Defense
Kensley Woolbright, Itawamba Community College
(SO, DS/L - New Hope, MS, 20)
Sophomore libero Kensley Woolbright (New Hope) had 67 digs (4.19 per set) and added a pair of aces to help Itawamba go 3-1 on the week. She also added 15 assists on the week.
Women's Soccer - Offense
Sherline King, Jones College
(Fr, MF - Panama City, Panama, 7)
Sherline King, a freshman forward from Panama City, Panama, had four goals, two assists and 10 points as No. 6 Jones College went 2-0 last week. She had two goals and an assist in a 3-1 win over No. 17 Pensacola St. She also had two goals and an assist in a 3-1 win over Copiah-Lincoln. She was also credited with a game-winning goal last week.
Women's Soccer - Goalkeeper
Annabelle Holman, Itawamba Community College
(FR, GK - Amory, MS, 30)
Freshman keeper Annabelle Holman (Amory) came up big in the clutch to help the Lady Indians secure the 3-2 victory over No. 20 Gulf Coast. She had 9 saves and allowed 2 goals in the complete game effort.
Men's Soccer - Offense
Cody Barnett, Hinds Community College
(Fr, RT/ST - Clinton, MS, 8)
Barnett once again posted a hat trick in the lone match at NWCC and helped lead the Eagles to a 4-2 victory on Friday evening in Senatobia. On the season, Barnett has tallied 17 goals and currently sits T-3rd in the nation in goals scored.
Men's Soccer - Goalkeeper
William Blake, Itawamba Community College
(SO, GK - Fulton, MS, 0)
Sophomore keeper William Blake (Fulton) had five saves in a complete game and kept No. 5 Gulf Coast off the board to help Itawamba pick up the 1-0 victory.
Football - Offense
Makyi Reed-Jones, Northeast Mississippi Community College
(Freshman, WR - Oxford, Miss., 11)
Makyi Reed-Jones recorded the first 100-plus yard receiving performance by any Northeast receiver this season and the first of his career. He made five receptions for 101 total yards in the Tigers' road victory at Mississippi Delta in a makeup game that was originally postponed due to Hurricane Francine.
Football - Defense
JD Washington, Northeast Mississippi Community College
(Freshman, DB - Olive Branch, Miss., 23)
JD Washington had the game of his career at Mississippi Delta. First, he blocked a field goal, picked it up and returned it nearly 70 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the first half to give the Tigers a 10-7 lead. He had a fumble recovery and forced fumble defensively along with six tackles and a pass break up. Washington also had an interception called back by an offsides penalty.
Football - Special Teams
Freddy Lopez, Northeast Mississippi Community College
(Freshman, K - Ripley, Miss., 15)
Reigning MACCC Special Teams Player of the Week kicked another pair of lengthy field goals -- 43 and 37 yards -- in Northeast's 20-14 win at Mississippi Delta. He also made both of his extra point attempts for eight total points. Lopez averaged 57 yards on four kickoffs as well.
