SENATOBIA – Jones won three matches at Northwest's Howard Coliseum over a 24-hour period to capture its first NJCAA Region 23 Volleyball Championship in Year 1 of the program.
"The ladies were focused and locked in since Thursday," head coach John Dussouy said. "I was impressed with their unity and resilience throughout the entire tournament. In the end, we executed very well and didn't waiver when they were challenged by the opposition. I can't be happier for them. They truly deserve this championship."
Jones improved to 28-7 and handed Northwest, 25-9, its first home loss of the season.
The Bobcats will play the Alabama Community College Conference Champion in the district final next weekend. Time and opponent are TBA.
